LOCATION: Big Lagoon State Recreation Area is located on County Road 292A, approximately 10 miles southwest of Pensacola, FL

ACTIVITIES: Swimming, fishing, boating, camping, picnicking and nature study will keep everyone active on the shores of the Intracoastal Waterway and Big Lagoon.

FACILITIES: There is a primitive youth camping area available, which has a modern restroom, campfire circle and in ground grills.

FEES: Camping, Sept. 1-Feb 28 $10 per site per day, plus $2 per day for each extra person. From Mar 1 through Aug. 31, fees are $12 per site per day, plus $2 per day for each extra person. Extra vehicle fee is $3.00 nightly (does not apply to Tows).  Fees for the youth primitive camping area are $2.00 per youth per night and $3.00 per adult per night.

SITE: The sandy beaches and salt marshes of Big Lagoon State Recreation Area provide important habitat for numerous birds and animals. Cardinals, towhees, brown thrashers and nuthatches are commonly observed in the uplands, while great blue herons and other water birds are frequently seen near Big Lagoon.
