NOTES ON FLORIDA STATE PARKS AND FLORIDA STATE RECREATION AREAS:
Youth camping areas are available at some state parks and are listed as an available
facility. The fees on these sites for Boy Scout Troops are usually about $.50 per person
per night. The facilities are generally very primitive and some do not even have a water
source. Even so, they are usually booked up well in advance. Group leaders need to call or
write the park well in advance of the planned camping trip. The Florida Park System
normally equips their parks with water, toilets, showers, electricity and in some cases RV
hookups. The normal tent sites are not very big and usually can only hold two small or one
large tent. Fees for sites are based on four people per site. Each additional person is
usually charged an additional $.50 per night.
