LOCATION: Olustee Battlefield State Historical Site is located two miles east of Olustee on U.S. 90. Olustee is located halfway between Lake City and Jacksonville.

ACTIVITIES: Although camping is not available on the battlefield site, primitive camping is available in the Osceola National Forest. Leaders should write: District Forest Ranger, Osceola National Forest, P.O. Box 731, Lake City, Fl 32055. The Ocseola-Olustee Historic Trail can be hiked through the national forest ending at Olustee Battlefield Historical Site. Please see section on hiking trails. A re-enactment of the Battle of Olustee is held every February. Often local Boy Scout groups are allowed to participate.

FACILITIES: An interpretive center is open Thursday through Monday. The battlefield is marked by a trail and signs along the battle lines.

FEES: Admission fees are $1.00 for Vehicle operator and $.50 per passenger.

SITE: The Battle of Ocean Pond or the Battle of Olustee was Florida's major Civil War battle, where Confederate troops turned back the Federals to maintain control of Florida.
