LOCATION: The park is located 15 miles northeast of Milton, off U.S 90. Take U.S. 90 East from Milton to Harold, where you will see the signs directing you to the Blackwater River State Park.
ACTIVITIES: Activities include camping, picnicking, fishing, nature trails, boating and canoeing.
FACILITIES: The park is a major ending point for the Blackwater River Canoe trail. (see section on canoe trails)
FEES: Fees are $8 per day per site, plus $.50 per day for extra persons.
SITE: The park is located on one of the cleanest rivers in the United
States, the Blackwater River. Its dark, tannin water contrasts with the large. white
sandbars found at each bend in the river. The Blackwater River begins 45 miles upstream in
Alabama and continues downstream for 13 miles before emptying into Blackwater Bay. The
park is located in the 183,153 acre Blackwater River State Forest.
