SWEETWATER/JUNIPER CREEKS CANOE TRAIL
DESCRIPTION: Sweetwater/Juniper Creeks twist through the Blackwater River State Forest. The upper Sweetwater Creek portion is narrow, very winding and fairly swift. After the trail joins Juniper Creek, the curves become gentler and the current slows. Sweetwater/Juniper Creeks have clear, tea-colored water with white sandy bottoms and wide sandbars. History records that Andrew Jackson crossed the river at Red Rock during the Seminole Wars. The canoe trail connects with the Jackson Red Ground Hiking Trail.
