NOTES ON GEORGIA STATE PARKS:

Call (404) 656-3530 for a free brochure listing overnight accommodations and accessible facilities.  The state camping facilities have four different campsites - Walk-ins, Primitive, Pioneer, and Group Camps/Lodges

Walk-In Campsite -- Walk-in campsites do not have water, electricity and garbage containers. Parking areas are provided, with a trail leading to the tent pad. A picnic table and fire ring are usually available at the pad. Walk-in campsites are generally located within walking distance of the comfort station and other amenities.
Primitive Campsites -- Primitive sites are located in more remote sections of the park with access to the campsites by hiking trail only. No water spigot, toilet or electricity is available. All personal gear is packed by the camper.

Pioneer Campsites -- Pioneer camping areas are for organized groups under the active supervision of adult leaders. Sites are semi-remote and without shower facilities. Some parks provide running water, electricity, picnic shelters and garbage containers.

Please contact the Information Office at (404) 656-3530 to receive a FREE Guide To Georgia State Parks which features a listing of parks that offer Walk-In, Primitive or Pioneer campsites.
